Well Water Treatment

Take control over the quality of your private well water

Over 10% of householders receive their drinking water supply from their own private well. Unlike the public supply, these wells are exempt from regulation and the responsibility for ensuring the water is safe to drink rests with the individual well owner. Without water quality monitoring, private well owners could be unwittingly drinking water that may be harmful to their health.

The quality of well water can also vary at different times of the year such as after a period of heavy rainfall or after a period of drought.

We provide a full range of solutions for the treatment of well water which is bespoke to the individual well owner and the particular characteristics of the water.

There are grants available under the Rural Water Programme to assist homeowners who are looking to carry out improvement works to a private water supply.

Well Water Treatment Services

Water Softeners

Private well water is highly likely to be hard water which causes limescale. A water softener installed by Hard Water Solutions protects your homes appliances and pipework from damage caused by limescale and is much kinder to skin and hair.

UV Filtration

Safeguard your home's private well water from the threat of contamination by disease causing bacteria like E.coli with the installation of a UV filter. The sophisticated technology of a UV filter destroys bacteria by exposing them to UV light

Iron & Manganese removal

If your water supply has a metallic taste or you notice a brown rust-like staining in your bath or sink it is likely to be affected by high levels of iron or manganese. We deploy sophisticated filtration systems to remove thiese metals from your water.

pH Correction

Pure water has a pH of 7 which is neutral on the pH scale. Private well water with a pH of 6.5 or less is considered acidic and is damaging to health and corrosive to plumbing fixtures in your home. With a pH correction system installed by us we can raise the pH level of the water entering your home.

Hydrogen Sulphide odours

Hydrogen sulphide gas is created from the decomposition of organic material in the water source giving off a rotten egg type smell and an unpleasant taste. Hydrogen sulphide is also corrosive to metals used in your homes plumbing. Typically we treat this with an aeration system.
